British Art in Denver

In one of my recent posts I mentioned that about 2 years ago I was given the opportunity to move tyo Denver, Colorado. One of the many things I have come to love about this city is the world class museums we have. Currently many collections are in storage at the Denver Art Museum while the finish an expansion, but some works are still on display. Earlier this year I went to the traveling Doir exhibit the museum hosted & found this amazing exhibit of British painting through the ages. Notably I was able to see my very first Holbien in person in baby Prince Edward's portrait. The insdtallation is running through July 2020, so please check it out. I'm  including some of my pictures as teasers for you! https://denverartmuseum.org/exhibitions/treasures

Hidden Treasure in Oklahoma

I normally don't try to plug destinations for things you HAVE to visit, but if you love 16th century Italian , you need to make a visit to Tulsa, OK. Villa Philbrook was built in the 1920's as a private home, and is now an art museum open to the public. Photo by myself in the gardens behind the Villa. I was invited out to assist with a special even they were hosting over the summer. Our local SCA chapter in Tulsa was adding ambiance and entertaining guests prior to a vow renewal/wedding, and a screening of The Princess Bride. Because we were only to happy to help the museum allowed us to take photos around the grounds in our period clothing. This is not something that is normally allowed without prior permissions. Enjoy of few more photos of our visit to one of the hidden treasures of Oklahoma, and I hope all of you Italian architecture fans add it to your must see spaces! A Day with Da Vinci

The Tudor Project was invited to provide ambiance for two current exhibits at the Phoenix Art Museum on February 14-15, 2015. Everyone involved in The Tudor Project is honored and grateful that we have been invited to enhance the experience of museum goers in Phoenix, Arizona. We wandered through the exhibition of Da Vinci's Leicester Codex  listening to talks about the observations on pages of the famous notebook by local academics. Many of the observations in this codex are devoted to how Da Vinci thought water worked. I highly encourage everyone to go to the museum and see this exhibit. The codex is on loan from Bill Gates and will be here for a limited time. Remember there is no photography allowed in this exhibit!  Mary Magdalene by Master of Astorga ca. 1500-1525. Tempera and gilt on wooden panel. We then wandered through the Mysteries from Europe exhibition which is filled with beautiful art from unidentified artists. The collection is filled with religious...
